The effect of hypertension in pregnancy and central nervous system anomalies on fetal brain development

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate whether maternal hypertension affects fetal brain maturation, and examine treatment with magnesium sulfate has a protective effect on the brain. Methods: A total 26 fetuses, including 11 dead fetuses pregnant women who were found have whose pregnancy terminated due reason, 15 did not risk factor but died for various reasons as control group, included in study. Brain tissue samples evaluated presence morphological histopathological changes, well apoptotic cells. morphologies examined sections stained hematoxylin-eosin (H&E), apoptosis light microscopy by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) method. Results: In it observed that had structure compatible development weeks. there no bleeding foci tissues mostly preserved features similar patients. While edema detected 45.4% infants 54.6%. Grade 1 necrosis 63.6% samples, 2 9.1%, 27.3% samples. Conclusions: Based findings study, can be concluded increases neurological maturation causing vasodilation brain, increasing blood flow, decreasing cell death.
